Consulting
In 2009, George-Fikes LLC was born as a result of Mr. Fikes being asked by the Oklahoma State Legislature to intervene as a liaison between Central Purchasing, Oklahoma Department of Transportation, and minority contractors for State Construction projects. Mr. Fikes was also retained as a consultant by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation and shortly thereafter began working as a consultant for Flintco Construction (Tulsa), a Billion Dollar revenue company.
After a few years of putting small companies and large companies together (subcontractors with prime contractors) and working as a liaison between said companies and government entities, Mr. Fikes ventured into construction himself. Although George Fikes was the name of Mr. Fikes’ great-grandfather, the company name is a result of partnering with Danny George, a friend and former Oklahoma State Representative turned lobbyist (Danny George & Kenny Fikes). With Kenny being the financial guru and Danny as a Business Development extraordinaire, they were off to the races. In the beginning, as joint-venture partners, several smaller companies were the building capacity as George-Fikes had the ability to bond jobs while the other companies had the expertise and portfolio to win the jobs.
The majority of our work has been done in Oklahoma, with some in Arkansas, Delaware, and Arizona. As planned from day one after helping to get things going, Danny has moved on with an energy start-up and drilling water wells in various African regions. But the name remains the same.

Transportation
In 2012, George-Fikes LLC ventured into the trucking industry as a result of investing in someone else who wanted to expand his one-truck business. While knowledgeable about the basic tenants of trucking, he lacked the overall acumen to run a transportation company, so we took over operations. Today we specialize in building capacity one truck at a time by pursuing custom solutions for individual customers. Our goal is to intentionally scale as we provide solutions to the typical broker process and recurring issues around: hunting for random trucks to fill customer needs with literally no idea of the service, character, or reliability of these random companies; concentrating on margin alone (how little they can pay and how much they can keep); rolling the dice on quality; and readily blaming the trucking company if something goes wrong. Instead, our model addresses these long-standing broker issues to provide dedicated transportation services with an eye towards quality, reliability, responsibility and accountability. With George-Fikes, LLC filling your transportation needs, you can rely on the same boring reliable service, every time, not a talking-head making promises.
